Simone Edgell is a founding member of Roads To Recovery. She began working at the center in 2010 and has enjoyed her administration role from the beginning. Simone helps oversee the office responsibilities and has been instrumental in supporting all of Roads' fundraising activities over the years. Before working at Roads, she worked in the recruiting and marketing fields. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at University of Cincinnati and her MBA at Wright State University. Simone enjoys spending time with her teenage son who is on the spectrum and her immediate family who is luckily, all local. She also loves traveling, shopping and crafting. Simone appreciates all the wonderful students she has met over the years and is in awe of the student successes which are made possible by the ever growing and amazing Roads teaching team.
Haley Moody joined the administration team in June of 2021. She worked at Roads to Recovery from 2011 through 2014 as a tutor, with families that she still feels close with today. She earned her Early Childhood / Intervention Specialist degree from Wittenberg University in 2016. She also minored in Russian Studies and Biology, for fun! She obtained her Lower Elementary Montessori teacher certification from the North American Montessori Center in 2017. Haley enjoys spending time with her small family, doing crafts or projects with her daughter, taking hikes, and creating teaching and classroom materials. Haley enjoys the work she does at Roads to Recovery and has been impressed with the level of dedication each staff member brings to their student teams. Oversight BCBA Team:
Leigha Herrmann is a 5+ year BCBA and COBA from Dayton, Ohio. Leigha earned her Bachelors of Science from Wright State University, and her Master of Science in Psychology from Purdue University. Leigha loves working with students of all ages and ability levels, and remarks that her favorite parts of being a BCBA are teaching kids language, social skills, and functional life skills. Leigha has worked with 20+ students and educators in center, school, and community settings. In her free time, Leigha enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and son, Finn. Leigha also loves reading, singing, crafting, and thrift shopping
Laurel Marrington began ABA tutoring in 2003 which inspired her to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2015. She currently focuses her expertise on students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in various therapy settings. She has also had experience working as an Intervention Specialist in the school setting for students with special needs. She earned her Bachelors of Science from Miami University and her Master of Education from Wright State University. Laurel has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Roads to Recovery for the past seven years. Her favorite part of this career has been uncovering the unique talents God has given each student while helping them reach their goals.
Whitney Curtis-Huskey has worked with children and adolescents who have special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorders since 2015. She earned her Bachelors of Science from Wright State University, and her Master of Education from the University of Cincinnati. Whitney received her BCBA in February of 2020. She has worked in a variety of different settings, including in-home, center-based, and community-based programs. Her favorite part of this job is seeing the growth of her students, and celebrating milestones both big and small. Whitney joined our Roads to Recovery family in December of 2018.
Jami Karnes has worked with individuals on the autism spectrum for over 7 years and has been at Roads to Recovery since 2017. He attended Wright State University, where he obtained a Bachelors of Science, and completed his Master of Education from the University of Cincinnati. He is currently a BCBA supervisee candidate, receiving supervision from our senior BCBA staff. He has learned that with the many pleasures in life, there is none far greater for him than the gift of care and teaching. Providing services to those touched by autism and to their families has given a greater meaning to his perspective on life. Jami is excited to complete his certification and continue to make a positive impact on the field of ABA.
